The current world is characterized by deep signs of violence, and women as part of that universe, may suffer from a violent event, a situation to which is added, the fact of being at the same time, victim of a series of aggressions, only because of being a woman, a fact that emerges, of gender inequality, instituted by a patriarchal social structure, in which discriminatory behaviors in the family, labor and social environment have prevailed, product of the power assigned to the masculine gender. When extreme gender violence is reached, leading to homicide of the female, the figure of femicide can be considered, a situation that rests on socio-cultural patterns that impose inequality, demonstrating an exaggerated aversion towards women, materializing in misogyny, public and private level. In such a way that to speak of femicide, is to bring to collation, any act of aggression against women resulting in death. Hence, femicide, stands as the most serious manifestation of continuous episodes of violence, illustrating in that way, how oppression and inequality, puts women in a really vulnerable position.
