The Martín Infierno cave is located in Cuba, Cienfuegos province, municipality of Cumanayagua. It was declared a National Monument and Outstanding Natural Element with National Significance, for having the largest stalagmite in the world, and also having other attractions. In the current context, a local development project is being carried out that has the name: Martín Infierno Tourist Project, and it has its objective: To contribute to the sustainable tourism development of the municipality of Cumanayagua, through the implementation of a tourist option in the Martín Infierno cave and its surroundings, that observe the mitigation and resilience actions to climate change, promote rural development in the area where the project is located, and promote the export of services. This paper makes a synthesis of the project, addressing aspects such as: expected benefits; identified attractions; market segmentation; as well as the activities to be developed with tourists.
