Nowadays, knowledge is the most valuable asset of any entity or business, and a fundamental pillar for the development of society. The self-management of knowledge has become, then, a challenge for organizations and its fundamental objective is to create an environment in which knowledge and information are accessible and can be used to stimulate innovation and produce new knowledge, The present research integrates the necessary elements that justify the importance of the process of self-management of knowledge in the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences and Physics of the University of Guayaquil in the career of Information Technology, which allows it to use the research potential available to create, manage and transfer knowledge to the whole society. The objective of the research is to explore what type of ICT is available to university students personally, and how they use it to self-manage the knowledge of their specialties.
