Resumen

ROSELLO FINA, Jorge Rafael et al. Técnica de Moran, reparación protésica en la hernia inguinal con malla preperitoneal: Reporte preliminar. Rev Cubana Cir [online]. 2002, vol.41, n.3, pp. 170-175. ISSN 1561-2945.

The first 10 patients with inguinal hernias operated on at Comandante Manuel Fajardo Teaching Hospital by using the technique described by Robert Moran, in 1992, were presented. This technique consists in placing a lineal piece of polypropylene in preperitoneal position via transinguinal with its further fixation and the closure of the posterior wall with the first 2 planes of Shouldice’s technique. Gilbert’s classification modified by Rutkow and Robbins was used. Type 3, 4 and 6 hernias according to this classification were operated on. 6 cases were relapsed hernias and 7 underwent elective surgery. Regional and local anesthesia and acupuncture were used in descending order. No complications or wound sepsis were observed. There was no hernial relapse in our series, with a follow-up that ranges from 6 to 9 months
