Resumen
LEON MENDEZ, Alcides Juan; STEFANO, Edgar y CHIRINO MONTANO, Johan. Reduction of pipe lengths in CFD simulation of flow through pipe fittings. Ing. hidrául. ambient. [online]. 2023, vol.44, n.3, pp. 2-15. Epub 13-Mar-2024. ISSN 2788-6050.
The present work exposes the experiences in the modeling with CFD (Computational Fluids Dynamics) techniques of pipes, such as penstocks, which have an online accessory inserted. In it, the criteria are exposed, regarding the lengths that must be taken into consideration and how to achieve it, when facing a computational design of these characteristics. This allows minimizing the number of nodes and elements of the mesh that decisively influence the weight of the model and the calculation time used in each simulation.
