The rapid development of science and technology implies the need for constant updating of human resources. Therefore, education has as a social task the formation of a professional of excellence, revolutionary and integral which solid political convictions, ethical values, committed to the principles of the Revolution; which should ensure his professional performance and his scientific training in function of the development of society. In this sense, Advanced Education as a theory deals with the professional improvement that is materialized in the instructive and educational activity through the concrete transformation of the environment based on a better performance aspect that manages to relate in the context of the Public Health System from the professional performance of specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This theory develops processes in different areas of knowledge. From this perspective, the performance of the physiatrist was evidenced in the execution of actions inherent to his functions with professionalism in the care of the disabled and the elevation of the quality of services at different levels of care. The objective was specified: To characterize the pedagogical performance of specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation that contributes to the improvement of the functions associated with their work. In this way, it was possible to establish relationships where an approach was made to different positions of the categorical system related to performance, professional performance, and professionalization from physical medicine and rehabilitation.
