Resumen

DIAZ BATISTA, Arquímides; GARCIA MESA, Milagros; PINA MANRESA, Carmen  y  MENENDEZ CEPERO, Silvia. Efecto del ozono sobre la activación plaquetaria en pacientes con enfermedades vasculares periféricas: Informe preliminar. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2001, vol.20, n.1, pp. 42-44. ISSN 1561-3011.

We verified whether there is platelet aggregation or not in patients diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency; lower limb ulcers and subacute arterial ischemia, who were on a 10-20 d ozone treatment. Platelet aggregation in plateled-rich plasma (200 µL) was induced by adding increasing concentrations of ephinephrine (10-8 to 10-5 mol/L) in the incubation medium and determined by Born´s turbidimetric method. Platelet aggregation found at the onset of the ozone therapy showed a mean of 38,19 % and a range of 66,25 to 12,5 % whereas at the end of the treatment it was reduced to a mean of 14,37 % and a range from 28,75 to 6, 25 %. It was observed that platelet aggregation percentage at the end of treatment decreased as compared with the initial values
