Tuberculosis is a disease whose incidence has increased in the world since the 1980s, and in Cuba from 1992 on. Therefore, it is important to promote the elaboration of surveillance and control programs at the local level, adjusting them to the conditions required at this level. With this paper we offer an alternative to prepare the surveillance program that should be associated with the tuberculosis control program so that it serves as a guide for the debates on the evaluation of the epidemiological situation of the disease.
