On the basis of Bone criteria for sepsis a review of the main clinical elements characterizing this entity and with the use of the said criteria the three groups of patients with different prognosis and treatment are classified. This classification is very useful in order to increase the medical care quality in this type of patients. The main medical actions to be developed with respect to each group are enunciated. It is concluded that taking into consideration the current scientific development, the most efficient method to improve the sepsis results is the consequent application of the said criteria, and of the classification derived from them in order to achieve an early diagnosis. For this purpose the primary health care doctor plays a fundamental role.
