The purpose of this paper is to improve the effectiveness of the professional activity of the director of the school director in the institutional direction of the teaching-learning process. It proposes a procedure that, through its steps, phases and tasks, makes possible the integration of the set of management processes that concur for the accomplishment of this superposes. The strategy followed to corroborate scientific value was conceived from a mixed approach, which included a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques (expert judgment, socialization and quasi-experimental workshops, among others) demonstrated the feasibility of the designed procedure
