Cuban universities are characterized by their scientific, technological, humanistic imprint and the training of broad-profile professionals. Its premises are the formation of values from education from instruction and university-society integration. In spite of the achievements obtained in the country in the educational area with this approach, sexist beliefs and patterns persist that limit gender equity associated with the processes of differentiated sexual socialization. This work aims to evaluate the role of the Gender, Science and Society Chair of the University of Cienfuegos in mainstreaming the gender perspective as a necessary element for the achievement of equity. All this, through the results achieved in innumerable spaces won for the sake of social awareness.
