Qualitative research is characterized by the relationships established between the researcher and the participants, hence the importance of ethics as guarantor of scientific rigor in inquiries; which must also be present in the pedagogical investigations where this paradigm is used. The present descriptive work of the bibliographic review type based on the methods, hermeneutics and content analysis, aims to analyze from a critical position the presence of ethics in pedagogical research with a qualitative approach. Among the main results are the characterization of qualitative research, its main methods and techniques, the foundations and ethical elements, and its use in the pedagogical field for the study of social relations within educational institutions in achieving the objectives of the teaching systems and the school with the community as an agent of change, as well as an object of study in the curriculum of pedagogical careers from the cognitive and axiological point of view. It is concluded, that qualitative research constitutes a valuable ethical tool for the comprehensive training of future teachers.
