Information and Communication Technologies have been gaining space at an accelerated rate in education. They have revolutionized the way of transmitting knowledge and significant transformations have had to be made to keep up with technological advances. Universities around the world are introducing new paradigms in their educational management, an example of which is virtual learning environments to support the teaching-learning process. These environments have introduced new models of imparting knowledge, among which blended learning stands out, a combination of face-to-face learning with non-face-to-face learning, since it is presented as an alternative to training in higher education, optimizing resources and time availability. In this article, criteria on the advantages and opportunities offered by this form of learning linked to the Moodle learning platform will be presented.
