The learning of mathematics in the different educational levels is a latent problem, being important the articulation of new models and didactic procedures according to the demands of education in the context of the digital era. The purpose of the study was to verify the effectiveness of the didactic model invested in the teaching-learning process of mathematics in students in the fifth grade of secondary education. The research methodology was mixed (qualitative and quantitative) through the pre-experimental design, the research process consisted in the application of the inverted class model during the development of the curricular contents of mathematics with activities inside and outside the classroom. The descriptive and analytical results obtained with the didactic model confirm its effectiveness for the learning of mathematics, according to the evaluation rubric more than 65% had achievements between excellent and good, also more than 70% of the participants show full satisfaction with the didactic strategy. From the results of the rubric it is inferred that the mathematical competence of the students through the inverted class is of a superlative level, and the level of satisfaction about their learning achieved and the mathematical competences developed was gratifying.
