Pediatric surgery undergoes development in care, as well as in research and teaching. Holguín teachers have the social commission of training specialists in the eastern region of Cuba. They must have tools to improve the teaching-learning process. The objective was to propose a model for the training of the specialist in Pediatric Surgery. Development research. A model was designed for the professional training of the pediatric surgeon. Theoretical and empirical methods were applied. Methodological shortcomings were detected in the current training program that limits the teaching-learning process of pediatric surgery. A model was obtained that favors the training of this professional.
