PEREZ MARTINEZ, Armenio  y  RODRIGUEZ FERNANDEZ, Aimara. Guidelines for social relevance in postgraduate studies. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.82, pp. 395-401.  Epub 02-Oct-2021. ISSN 1990-8644.

Social reality poses a demand to all the institutions that make up the network of relationships that humanity has developed. Social problems dynamize the practices of Higher Education Institutions (IES) focused on achieving educational quality and social relevance through their traditional functions: teaching, research and connection with society. The objective is to identify guidelines in society and postgraduate studies, as a formative process of HEIs, that allow increasing the social relevance of the university, through its training, research and extension functions. A qualitative paradigm and an analytical, interpretive and critical research perspective were used on the problem of social relevance of fourth level programs. Point to the need to conceive social relevance from the dialectical unit society-university. The proposed guidelines are a framework for reflection and debate; they can be used by the control bodies of the Higher Education system, HEIs and fourth level programs.

Palabras clave : Society; university; postgraduate; social relevance.
