ARREAGA FARIAS, Gisella; CRUZ PIZA, Iyo; ESPANA HERRERIA, Marcia  y  MOLINA MANZO, Alexandra. Permanence of mendicity in ecuadorian children. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.83, pp. 244-249.  Epub 10-Dic-2021. ISSN 1990-8644.

Guaranteeing the best interests of children and adolescents constitutes a coordinated obligation between the state, society, the family and educational institutions. However, isolated phenomena are visible in children practicing begging. Child begging represents a harsh reality that has been aggravated by the global crisis generated by the COVID 19 pandemic. This research carries out a study on the lack of protection of the basic rights of minors. As a result, a survey was applied to 27 children who begin the street from a random sampling, it was found that the phenomenon is given by the need to support their family, which represents a behavior by imitation since in most of the cases there are people or close relatives who practice begging.

Palabras clave : Child begging; permanence of begging; Ecuadorian children.
