Maternal and perinatal morbidity associated with premature rupture of membranes is considered a serious health problem and is more significant when it comes to pregnant adolescents, so that it is essential to know and manage its incidence and maternal-perinatal implications in health services. Inserted in a community development research project as part of formatives actions in Medical students the following study is proposed, which aims, based on an initial diagnosis, to detect possible causes of the appearance of premature rupture of membranes in pregnant adolescents in a community health area belonging to the Ibarra canton in the province of Imbabura from of the habits and living conditions that they present. During the study, the incidence of triggering factors for premature rupture of membranes was evidenced. Based on the results obtained, a set of health promotion educational actions is proposed with a view to preventing the appearance of this pathology in these teenagers and finally, the order of priority of these actions was determined using the Difusse Cognitive Map method with the purpose of obtaining better results in the application of the same.
