TOAPANTA JIMENEZ, Leonardo; COKA FLORES, Diego Fernando y ANDRADE SANTAMARIA, Danilo Rafael. Analysis of the treatment of people with special educational needs, analyzed from the teaching competences. Conrado [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.89, pp. 261-270. Epub 30-Dic-2022. ISSN 1990-8644.
Special educational needs are related to disability and states such as behavioral disorders, generalized or specific learning difficulties, high intellectual capacities, educational backwardness and diverse social situations. Its complexity implies a professional challenge to which the teachers in charge of providing the corresponding education and training must respond. The study performs an analysis of the skills of teachers who work with people with special educational needs, considering the criteria of teachers and students. Seen from both perspectives, it would raise the attention both to students with disabilities and to those who do not suffer from them in citizen values, intelligences and social behaviors. On the other hand, for teachers it means the obligation, rather than a need, of deep knowledge about the subject, willingness to generate quality and a high academic level that contributes to the installation of a sustainable curriculum based on culture, tolerance and participation. The current fissures with which disabilities are treated explains the reality to be faced in Ecuador. For the study, the survey was used as an investigative technique, through which the results described in the body of this article were obtained.
