The present work attempts to respond in a dynamic way the importance of the initial and permanent training of the teacher, based on research competences as an alternative to its comprehensive development. This study addresses the concept of competence and its controversy with competitiveness. Thus, it is assumed that the issues of education in any of its levels, and in most cases, are determined by the political and economic model of a country, in such a way that the educational bodies shall have to promote and develop the investigative spirit.
