CANOVA HERRANDIZ, Adrián; CRUZ CABRERA, Leonardo; VECINO RONDAN, Uliser y GONZALEZ PEDRON, Sandra Lisset. Managing Professional Development as Essential to Professors. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2019, vol.38, n.3 Epub 01-Dic-2019. ISSN 0257-4314.
This research was aimed at suggesting a model to manage professional development which will contribute to professors’ enhanced performance. Such theoretical research methods as historical and logical, and analysis, synthesis, and modeling were used; a systemic-structural analysis approach was adopted; the empirical research method of document analysis was also used, and an initial diagnosis was made, with the aim of examining features of higher education before learning environment began to change so rapidly. It was found that universities took interest in their professors’ professional development, by making these engage in it, which allowed them to update their knowledge of new teaching techniques and methods guaranteeing efficiency. The model identifies the various stages of managing professors’ professional development.
