This research aims to situate the interiorization process of postgraduate studies (stricto sensu) in Brazil inside of educational public policies context, identifying the main strategies adopted by the University of Bahia State (UNEB). It is applied documental research of exploratory aspect and qualitative approach based on the analysis of National Plan of Postgraduate Courses (PNPG 2011-2020), National Plan of Education (PNE 2014-2024), State Plan of Education of Bahia (PEE 2016-2026), and Plan of Institutional Development (PDI UNEB 2017-2022). This study highlights the relevance of macro public policies articulation with the institutional strategies, the possibilities which emerge in the broad context of UNEB for the educational development, and, consequently economic and social development of territories.
