ABSTRACT: This study assesses the fulfillment of the didactic function, control and assessment of performance in the evaluation applied in their work as teachers by students of the first level of master's degrees related to education of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Santo Domingo in the year 2020 The methodological construct of the present manuscript is made up of a positivist-interpretive approach, with a non-experimental descriptive design. 77 teachers were considered as a sample and the survey was used to diagnose the form of evaluation they apply and its purpose according to the didactic function, control and performance assessment. The main results obtained are that teachers evaluate in a traditional way, considering the summative and promotional sense more frequently. It is concluded that the purpose of the evaluation applied by the teachers is not in accordance with the didactic function of control and evaluation of performance.
