With the Triumph of the Revolution, the role of women on Cuban society took a different course. At Cuban universities, where thousands of professionals are integrally trained, our students have stood out in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. ¨Cujaeñas¨, in particular, 71 young students from the School of Chemical Engineering, have been incorporated on different tasks until April 2021 in Havana. This project characterizes the impact of these young women´s participation on caring patients with the disease and on management of the country's processes and resources in front of an imminent crisis. The study included many young women´s experiences because they dedicated their time and effort to the pandemic confrontation. The humanistic spirit of Cuban youth was demonstrated. Our youth perceive today, their support to the country as an opportunity to profess their self-awareness.

Palabras clave : Cuban woman´s empowerment; Chemical Engineering; confrontation with COVID 19; university students; Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana.
