Virtualization allows to complement or replace the presence in the teaching-learning processes, which allows the saving of resources and the adaptation in space - time of the needs of students and teachers according to the availability of technological tools that are currently part of the educational process. A descriptive and experimental research was developed, with a mixed methodological approach, which was projected in three fundamental moments: the first, referred to the critical support of the theoretical, methodological and technological foundations that endorse the educational virtualization process for general studies in university education, the second concerns the characterization of the area under analysis; and the third, based on the configuration of a theoretical-methodological conception to favor virtualization at the level in question, with its respective methodology.
