A bibliographic review was made on the phenomenon of dialectic interrelation between the biologic and social factors in the case of cardiovascular risk factors in type 2 obese diabetic patients. It has been considered that aging, which is expressed in the ever increasing number of persons over 60, influences on the prevalence of the disease. The social factors, such as life habits, food habits and life style influence, in the last resort, on some of the biological factors as race, genetic predisposition for the development of the disease, and others. Reference was also made to the moral responsibility of health professionals in the fulfillment of their tasks and it was concluded by calling the attention of health professionals about the need to apply a comprehensive approach of the biological and social factors, and of the individual and population factors that allows to act in order to prevent.
