Foundation:

the model of Health Psychology in Cuba has among its objectives psychological intervention in times of disasters. COVID 19 is one of the greatest natural catastrophes in history, which has left and will leave fatal psychological consequences for human beings.

Objective:

to offer psychological action guidelines to psychologists who assist people at risk or who have COVID-19 and to healthcare providers.

Methods:

documentary review that merges the subject state of art, the best evidence and the experience of professionals from the Cienfuegos province.

Results:

The Psychology Group and the Chapter of the Cuban Society of Health Psychology of Cienfuegos propose guidelines for psychologists in charge of providing care to patients at risk and / or patients with COVID-19 and healthcare providers.

Conclusion:

the protocol of psychological intervention responds to psychological needs of people at risk or patients with COVID-19 during the care process and to psychological needs of workers who participate in this process.
