The purpose of this article is to socialize the experience of the conception of postgraduate professional improvement programs of the Department of History of the Central University Marta Abreu de Las Villas for their implementation in the modality of distance studies before the inevitable decision to interrupt the Postgraduate face-to-face and blended teaching, as part of the measures of the Plan for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 in Cuba and in response to the call of the World Health Organization (WHO) to face the pandemic. In this way, the sustainability of these corresponding processes in crisis and emergency situations is guaranteed, as a strategic axis of the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Education 2030. Challenge assumed with the redesign of the programs for their implementation, specifically online, with the purpose of promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, the professional development of its students and the sustainability of training programs, courses and diplomas, as well as promoting an inclusive and equitable quality education. For its realization, theoretical and empirical methods were used.
