The objective of the article is to make known part of a piece of research carried out on the curriculum of Spanish as a Foreign Language and the cognitive, communicative and socio-cultural approach at the Jose Marti Center for Languages and Computers. Thus, the article goes over the conceptualization and the terminology related to the curriculum, the models of curriculum design in foreign languages and the approaches used in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language so as to take up a coherent terminology and a didactic conception.
