Education must be at the forefront of scientific and technological advances and the constant changes they generate. More active teaching methods are required, which allow students to be protagonists in the teaching-learning process, as well as to apply and obtain their own knowledge by developing in real contexts during the solution of problems. The objective of the present study was to determine the influence of the Project Based Learning methodology on the Student's Results of the Industrial Automation course of the Professional School of Industrial Engineering in a Peruvian university. For this purpose, students were organized into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The results show that the experimental group reached a Student's Result of 81% with a difference of 27% more than the control group, placing it in the achieved level, while the control group reached 54%, placing it in the applied level. It is confirmed that the application of the Project Based Learning methodology in this subject, significantly influences the Student's Results with respect to the evaluated dimensions: engineering knowledge, research, individual and team work and the use of modern tools.
