The theoretical-methodological study that is presented aims to approach the means of the teaching-learning process in the context of computerization, a term that manifests a conceptual dispersion, based on the varied and contradictory criteria offered by numerous authors, related to their definition, classification and structure, based on its functions and components. It also reveals the analysis of the main problems faced when specifying the necessary and sufficient criteria for its definition, so that it contains the essential distinctive features of this component, as well as the essential generic and differential characteristics for its classification. In this sense, a set of ideas is provided that contribute to support the projection of the professional who directs training processes before this category of Didactics, while emphasizing the systemic and integrative perception when conceiving its selection and use in the context of the computerization of society, taking into account its peculiarities and demands.
