BATISTA SALVADOR, Amauri; LEON MARTINEZ, Eusebio Ebert y MENA CAMPOS, Alodio. Non-school forms of education and their contribution to the educational development of Port-au-Prince. Varona [online]. 2022, n.75 Epub 02-Dic-2022. ISSN 1992-8238.
Education as a social phenomenon constitutes a complex system of influence where the whole society participates as the objective basis of the individual's education process in order to achieve their integration into the social context. The so-called non-school education is manifested through the generational oral transmission of the experiences acquired through the family, the community and society in general, in addition to the theoretical teaching of the productive material and spiritual reproductive activities aimed at satisfying the needs ever-increasing man. However, historical-pedagogical research aimed at revealing the work carried out by these in educational development is still insufficient. This article aims to reveal the work and contribution of non-school forms of education to the educational development of Port-au-Prince during the first half of the 19th century. Different research methods were used from the perspective of historical inquiry: historical and logical, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, assessment of primary and secondary sources, and documentary analysis. The present work contributes to enrich the history of the pedagogy of the Principe region and by extension the history of Cuban education.
