Resumen

The objective of this article was to implement the use of meme as a didactic strategy in the teaching-learning of Social Studies in students of basic general education, upper sublevel belonging to the 8th, 9th and 10th years of the Fe Herodita Loor Muñoz Educational Unit. It was developed from the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative approach, likewise, the research is transversal, non-experimental and descriptive. The population to investigate is made up of 90 students and a sample of 74 of them was selected. To collect the data, the survey technique with 10 closed questions was used. A strategy proposal based on meaningful learning was made. It is concluded that its use would generate the revitalization of student learning and as an added value of educational interest the improvement of the pedagogical exercise of teachers, which would awaken motivation, creativity, academic performance, meaningful and collaborative learning.
