The purpose of this study is to analyze family communication and its influence on personality and self-esteem in young people from the 22 de November citadel in the city of Milagro. The causes and effects to which young people are exposed, and the psychological consequences of young people, will be known. The group is made up of 38 young people, aged between 12 and 18, of whom the majority belong to dysfunctional families. To carry out this research, inductive-deductive and analytical-synthetic methods were used to thoroughly analyze every detail of the project. Regarding the instruments, 2 psychological scales were applied that allow measuring self-esteem and the set of intellectual traits, and psychics that configure the personality and the other scale determines the relationships that occur between the members of the home. For this entire process, the main empirical method such as direct observation was also used. Once the results of the psychological scales were analyzed, the need was seen to create a family therapy treatment plan and psychological techniques that help the development of personality and increase levels of self-esteem.
