MORILLO CANO, Julio Rodrigo; MOLINA DELGADO, José Renán  y  NAVARRETE ARBOLEDA, Edmundo Daniel. Deciphering work fitness in work at height: a cross-sectional study. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2024, vol.16, n.1, pp. 358-367.  Epub 28-Feb-2024. ISSN 2218-3620.

Working at height carries risks that must be addressed to ensure workplace safety. This study focuses on the evaluation of the aptitude of workers in working at heights, considering the importance of safety in this context. An observational and cross-sectional study was carried out to evaluate the capacity of 50 workers at height using a Modified Bruce Test. Variables such as age, duration of the test, cardiovascular responses and the presence of vagal reflex were analyzed. A significant correlation was identified between age and the duration of the test, showing that younger workers had more efficient performance. The study reveals the importance of considering age and cardiovascular responses when assessing fitness for work at height. Measures are proposed to improve the evaluation, including the incorporation of specific variables.
