The development, in its first stage, of an electronic sensor system for the detection of gases, vapors and other environmental variables is presented. This system is based on electronic sensors and an Arduino platform comprising a wireless communication module. The sensor system is intended for the study and control of indoor air quality, by visualizing and recording the concentrations of ethanol vapor - such as volatile organic compound (VOC) - and oxygen (O2) present in the environment, as well as the relative humidity and temperature. The system was tuned to measure ethanol vapor concentrations in the range from 0, 17 to 3, 43 ppm with a relative error of 1,5 %; oxygen concentrations from 0 % to 100 %, with an uncertainty of ± 1%. The relative humidity in the range from 0% to 100% and the temperature from -10 °C to +50 °C, with uncertainties of ± 3,5% and ± 1 °C respectively.
