The COVID-19 pandemic required teachers to carry out virtual activities and change teaching-learning strategies, adapting to an environment compromised by the implications of the confinement of educational centers. Negatively influencing teaching performance, which was related to the emotional and social conditions of each one. The stated objective was to describe the socio-emotional difficulties faced by teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. We worked under a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The results obtained show that teachers were not socially and emotionally prepared for virtual work from home, which they considered exhausting, with stress, fear, anguish and despair. Spending many hours manipulating a technological device, as well as little knowledge of technological tools, affected emotional health. For this reason, teachers must have social and emotional support, not only in adverse situations, but also in the normality of their work.
