A bibiliographic review of the granular cell tumor of the tongue, its clinical characteristics and differential diagnosis is made. The real possibility of its appearance in the face of a respiratory distress syndrome in a newborn infant is emphasized. A patient with these characteristics that was operated on by a multidisciplinary team in our institution is presented. The patient had a postoperative evolution with no complications and he was discharged completely cured.
