Formation in the university context is aimed at taking hold of knowledge, skills, capacities and competences, necessary when practicing profession, in relation with the economic, cultural and socio political requirements that gain in complexity facing the labor market's demands. Thus, the fact of recovering the historical memory in university student's comprehensive formation is an element to consider as to the Cuban higher education's goals. Based on the historical subject and its culture, reality can make sense and the human essence becomes a direct expression of society's transformations. The article analyzes such aspects and their weaknesses in Cuban higher education context, along with the need to integrate professional formation with didactics and the historical memory.
