The purpose of this article aimed at analyzing the perception of teachers and students from the subject research methodology, on the application of problems based on problems (ABP) at César Vallejo University of the Piura, Peru region. For this, constructivism was taken as a reference. The research was descriptive, provides information collected through the survey (students) and interview (teachers) at the subject of research methodology. 400 students were considered as a population and an intentional sample was taken from 156 to whom a survey was applied; and in the case of teachers, a virtual interview was applied to 6 of them. As results it was obtained that, in both actors, a favorable perception of the ABP and its implementation is evident. Students on their part also show willingness to experiment with this new teaching method.
