With the objective of optimizing the diagnosis and control of intestinal parasitism in the primary health care, we present a technical-organizational methodology that takes into account the present structure of the Hygiene and Epidemiology vice-ministry. A comprehensive approach to the functions of family physicians, parasitology lab staff and Hygiene and Epidemiology vice-directors is proposed and also the information uses are identified
