Studies of outfall systems are of great importance in Brazil, taking into account cost-benefit ratio and environmental impact. Technical analysis of this option must be accompanied by an environmental impact analysis in the discharge zone to adapt the system to the current legislation, regulated in Brazil by the National Environment Council. The possibility of implementing a submarine outfall on the beach Boracéia is studied in this work. Hydrodynamic modeling of the behavior of the effluent plume was made to establish the system performance by comparing different points of discharge and flow rates. The results show the feasibility of this option.
