Breast cancer is the principal cause of death in women in wideworld and the second cause of death in females in our country. Breast-self examination is one of the most important methods of early diagnosis of breast cancer; because of it is an instrument of prevention for doctors and nurses in primary health care. Almost, some investigations proven a diminish use of this method in all the world, and our country is not out of that situation even we have a program of early detection of breast cancer since 1987 that offers a guide of attention for this illness and puts the breast-self examination like one of the most important methods of detection in primary health care. This article presents a bibliographic revision of breast cancer and breast-self examination how an instrument of early diagnosis of this illness.
