LOPEZ MANTECON, Ana Marta  y  REYES MENDEZ, María Cristina. Cares Palliatives. A necessity in Rheumatology. Rev Cuba Reumatol [online]. 2013, vol.15, n.1, pp. 25-29. ISSN 1817-5996.

The palliative cares are a modality of the medicine in which the professional exercise is centred in the patient's integral, active and continuous attention and its family, carried out by a multidisciplinary team when the expectation is not the cure, but providing quality of life without lengthening the survival. It will cover physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects and he/she will extend to the period of bereavement. The following revision exposes the necessity of the professionals of the Rheumatology to dominate the theoretical and practical elements of the palliative cares for the attention of the rheumatic patients.

Palabras clave : cares palliatives; rheumatology.
