Resumen
DIAZ FERNANDEZ, José Manuel. Resultados de la descompresión del nervio infraorbitario en la parestesia postraumática. Rev Cubana Cir [online]. 1996, vol.35, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-2945.
A hundred patients with zygomatic fracture were studied; they were admitted and operated in the Maxillofacial Surgery Service of the "Saturnino Lora" Provincial Educational Hospital at Santiago de Cuba during a triennium (1987-1989). Data were obtained on the infraorbitarynerve dysfunction related to the kind of fracture and the therapeutical results of such dysfunctions. Among the most significant findings there is the success of the method of secondary decompression for the infraorbitary nerve, related to the return of the complete sensitiveness, or at least an improved sensitiveness in 10 of the 14 operated patients, in which this sensitiveness was completely lost or quite decreased after the reduction of the fractures. The favorable prognosis of the regeneration of such nerve corresponded with the early reduction of the fracture, before the organization process and fibrotic invasion of the infraorbitary duct, the daintiness during the deimpaction-reduction process, and the liberation of the nerve
