SANCHEZ-CASTILLEJA, Yolanda M; PEDROSO, Miriam y RODRIGUEZ DIEGO, J.G. SEROLOGIC SURVEY OF INFECTIOUS AGENTS RELATED TO ABORTUS IN DAIRY COWS. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2008, vol.30, n.1, pp. 65-67. ISSN 0253-570X.
In this study, a serologic research was performed to estimate seropositivity of infectious agents related to abortus in dairy Holstein cows from Tizayuca, Hgo., Mexico. Two hundred sixty one blood samples were obtained from coccygeal vein and centrifuged at 2500 rpm for 5 min. Sera was removed and stored at -20° C until its analysis by ELISA method for antibodies to Neospora caninum, IBR, PI3, RVSB virus, and by card test for Brucella abortus. The results obtained show the high percentage of all five agents, Neospora caninum (48,65%), PI3 (44,44%), RVSB (35. 43%), IBR (35,18%) and Brucella abortus (32,18%) which indicates that an appropiate control programme as much as differential diagnosis in aborted foetuses or placenta should be considered.
