TORRES, L.E et al. Mycoplasma meleagridis IN TURKES FROM A HERD IN AMECAMECASTATE OF MEXICO. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2010, vol.32, n.2, pp. 121-123. ISSN 0253-570X.
Thirty birds in the third week of age were studied in the State of Mexico with respiratory signs compatible with an infection by M. meleagridis from the clinical - pathological and serological point of view. The immunoenzyme technique (ELISA) was performed using an specific kit from IDEXX Laboratories for detecting antibodies against the agent. From birds showing clinical and pathological manifestations compatible with complicated respiratory disease, 76% were seropositive against M. meleagridis. This is the first study using immunosorbent assay (ELISA) which identifies antibodies to this agent in Mexico, the results warn about the need to expand these evaluations and consider them in developing future control methods against this organism.
