This paper presents the findings of a study made on hospitalized patients which were classified as hypertensive persons during 1997, in the Faculty Gynecobstetric Hospital of Matanzas, reaching the total of 267 patients. Out of them; 3 313 were not hypertensive persons, showing an incidence of 8,1 % of gravidic hypertension. A data base was created, which was further processed in the Microstat system, making possible to apply the ratio method, the parametric method of X2, where a £ 0,05 for prefixed percentage and the arithmetical averages. The analyzed variables made possible to show by its statistical significance, the negative effect of the gravidic hypertension in our morbi-mortality indexes.
