Chronic pelvic pain is a frequent symptom among adolescents. It is defined as a cyclic or non-cyclic, intermittent or constant discomfort in the pelvic area that lasts for at least 3-6 months. The diagnosis and management is sometimes complicated, so, it is often frustrating for patients, parents and the treating physician. It may even lead to functional problems such as changes in family dynamics and truancy. It is precisely the high frequency of this syndrome and its many peculiarities which has led us to develop the present review, hoping to be useful to everyone involved in gynecological care in this sector of the population.
