Are the main economic categories of Marxist Political Economy quantifiable? Is its quantification important as a historical and concrete expression? The answer is yes.This article will attempt to present an investigation on estimates of surplus value, the rate of surplus value and the rate of profit in recent years in various countries in Latin America and Europe, as well as some comments arising from what is observed there.We present an estimated approximation of these categories using aggregate data from national accounts.
